The World Through Tainted Colours

From that first little pink line on a blue stick to legos vs barbies, should our world suddenly be divided Pink and Blue? Entering the maternity circle feels a little like stepping into a bi-polar world. To what extent should you give into this? It starts with deciding – or not – to know the gender of your baby. Family will tell you that you absolutely should so that they know what to buy, friends will be curious and make bets, random people will tell you that you shouldn’t to avoid gender stereotyping your unborn child, and doctors will tell you they really don’t care and could you please hurry up to make a decision. But here we are and I really just simply, genuinely, wanted to know! And dudududum… It’s a boy! So does this mean I now need to save up for football lessons, buy little toy cars and planes and avoid all and any feminine colours in the nursery? Pregnant and Fabulous!

  ‘Clothes aren’t going to change the world, the women who wear them will’ – Anne Klein Week 10 and I don’t fit in my clothes anymore!! Time to go shopping it seems but I have never worn pregnancy things what to buy?? Where to buy?? Is it even normal not to fit in my clothes so early? Based on extensive blogging research, it seems there is no normal time to start showing. Therefore I declare myself normal! So to the more important questions of what and where to shop. To add insult to injury, not only do I no longer fit in my normal wardrobe but suddenly upon shopping it appears that pregnant women are all expected to spend the next 7 months sitting around the house in jogging bottoms with egg on… No thank you!!
